Utilizing Your Spiritual Gifts

When you become a Christian, the Holy Spirit gives you at least one Spiritual Gift (1 Corinthians 12:4). We cannot choose our Spiritual Gifts; God’s Holy Spirit does that for us. Spiritual Gifts are a God-given assignment, capacity, and desire to perform a function within the body of Christ with supernatural joy, energy, and effectiveness. Spiritual Gifts are given by the Holy Spirit at the point of salvation according to God’s grace. Spiritual Gifts indicate God’s call and purpose for a Christian’s life. They are to be used for the common good and edification (building up) of the body of Christ (1 Peter 4:10). The Holy Spirit helps disciples in the “work of the ministry” and gives peace in our spirits as we offer our Gifts for Kingdom building here on Earth.

The TLC Ministry provides prayer, encouragement and resource information to our Watts Chapel family members who are caring for elderly, special needs, or disabled loved ones. Additionally, we offer a GriefShare recovery support group and host an annual “Surviving the Holidays” seminar to help members who are grieving the death of a loved one, move from a sense of deep grief to peace.
